My parents were pretty heartbroken that I decided not to go to MBA school after being accepted at UT McCombs. Due to the high cost of business school, I decided to start my first business 9Terrains without it. To my delight, much of what I've needed to know, I already learned growing up as a first generation American. I hope "my immigrant MBA" helps your business, too!
First lesson below is courtesy of my father, who has been a contractor, flipped cars and diamonds, owned a nail salon and a fried catfish shop, and provided for my mother and fellow soldiers' orphans in the refugee camps by rowing a wood plank off shore to sell food to sailors.
